Gregory L. Geoffroy, professor, received his B.S. in 1968 from the University of Louisville and his Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology in 1974. He joined the chemistry faculty at Penn State University where he rose through the faculty ranks and served as Department Chair and Dean of the Eberly College of Science before moving to the University of Maryland, College Park as Senior Vice President and Provost. He was appointed President of Iowa State University in 2001 and served for 10.5 years before taking up his chemistry faculty position in 2012.
